Grain Marketing Board (GMB)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced personnel to fill the following positions within the Grain Marketing Board. The incumbents will be reporting to the Computer Systems Manager, Chief internal Auditor, Workshop Foreman, and Regional Enterprise Risk Officer respectively.

Job : Systems Administrator

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Information Systems/ Computer Science or equivalent
  • Microsoft certification (ie MCSE, MCSA, MCP-IT) is an added advantage
  • At least 3 years experience in a similar role

Summary of Duties

  • Initiates system backups for the SAP system, salaries system and in-house data to ensure there is no information loss
  • Maintains a register for software licenses, antivirus updates to safeguarding against malware software
  • Liaise with the internal audit and enterprise risk in assessing the activities of users on the system during investigations to resolve corrupt activities
  • Develop, maintain and monitor procedures for all server backups to safeguard against data loss.
  • Send tapes on offsite backup to ensure security of data files
  • Records complaints received from users facing challenges and relay message to the respective department for quick resolution of problems
  • Assists users resolve challenges encountered in using the systems to promote efficiency
  • Create users in the SAP system and assign profiles accordingly to new employees to ensure they access organisational systems
  • Terminate access to the company’s system for the employees exiting the organisation to protect GMB data
  • Develop procedures to maintain security and protect system from unauthorised use
  • Enforces the internet policy to ensure there is no misuse of internet during working hours
  • Authorises access to the system to users to ensure only permitted users have access to the system
  • Conducts asset reconciliations of all ICT hardware as well as establishing their condition for replacement
  • Contacts and liaises with service providers on their ICT products to ensure procurement of genuine products
  • Any other related duties as assigned by the superior

Job : Principal ICT Auditor

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in Information Technology, Business Studies and Computing Science, Auditing/Accounting/ equivalent
  • Relevant professional Qualifications (CISA, CIA)
  • A registered member of the institute of Internal Auditors, ISACA
  • At least 3- 5 years relevant experience in Audit

Summary of Duties

  • Develops an audit engagement assignment
  • Plans and prepares an ICT audit plan for the organisation to enable the identification of key ICT areas
  • Plans and conducts all ICT audits in a professional manner for the organisation so as to provide assurance that the organisations ICT infrastructure, application systems and governance which enable all ICT risks are mitigated
  • Reviews general control systems surrounding the ICT environment ie ICT standards and documentation, business intelligence and disaster recovery as well as adherence to ICT policies and procedures
  • Reviews application control systems and identify how IT processes are protected and also analyse master data in the SAP systems
  • Oversees configuration of the SAP system and ensure the system serves the intended purpose for the organisation
  • Ensure reduced attacks on IT resources through, hacking, viruses, cyber bullying and related subjects by giving informed advice. Including advice on information systems disaster management programs)
  • Prepare and conduct ICT risk assessment for the organisation that are used to monitor and evaluate ICT environment for the organisation
  • Assess continuously the risks involved within the system and devise methods to reduce any loss of information by any means thus maintaining the organisation’s institutional memory
  • Handles perimeter security so as to ensure protection of files from external threat. The incumbent will monitor access platforms and their functionality
  • Organises periodic system audits and risk assessments by certified ICT auditing firms to ensure consistency and efficiently in ICT operations
  • Ensures alignment of the global best practise by adopting the most relevant IT services framework and recommending relevant ICT information security policies
  • Any other work related duties as assigned by the superior

Job : Motor Mechanic

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • 5 O Level passes including English Language and Mathematics / Accounts
  • Class 1 Motor Mechanics
  • Class 4 or 2 Driver’s Licence and a valid defensive driving certificate
  • Certificate in Vehicle inspection and Certificate in fuel injection is an added advantage
  • At least 2 years experience in a similar role

Summary of Duties

  • Diagnosis, repairs and overhauls engines, transmissions, components, electrical and fuel systems
  • Services vehicles by replacing lubricants and worn-out parts
  • Attends to breakdowns
  • Performs tunes-ups, breakdown jobs and other preventive maintenance on cares, trucks , tractors and equipment
  • Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service
  • Assist in risk management activities
  • Maintains maintenance repair logs and records
  • Any other related duties as assigned by the superior

Job : Inspector x 3 Fixed Term Contract

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree/ Higher Diploma in Security and/or Risk Management, or equivalent
  • Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence is a must
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a law enforcement or security environment

Summary of Duties

  • Enforces compliance with provisions of the Grain Marketing Act Chapter (18:4)
  • Investigates any suspected breaches of the Grain Marketing Act Chapter (18:4)
  • Recommends regulation of users of controlled products
  • Identifies, recruits and supervises staff for enforcement activities
  • Carries out security and risk audits
  • Carries out due diligence inspections on all users of controlled products
  • Ensure adherence to Safety, Health and Environmental regulations and standards
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Superior
