International Biodiesel Day is commemorated on the 10th of August.

International Biodiesel Day is observed on August 10th every year to create awareness about the use of biodiesel as a sustainable and renewable energy source. This day is celebrated to recognize the importance of biodiesel in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting rural development, and enhancing energy security.

Biodiesel is a renewable, clean-burning diesel replacement that is made from a wide range of renewable sources such as vegetable oils, animal fats, and recycled greases. It is a cleaner-burning fuel than conventional diesel and can be used in existing diesel engines without the need for any engine modification.

The first International Biodiesel Day was celebrated on August 10, 2005, to commemorate the birthday of Rudolf Diesel, the inventor of the diesel engine. The day is now celebrated around the world with various events and activities to raise awareness about bio diesel and encourage its use as an alternative fuel source.
