Rural Electrification Fund
Vacancy : Accounting Officer
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Updates and maintains Fixed Asset Register for the organisation
- Provides accurate and sound management reporting for decision-making
- Produces month-end and year journals
- Carries out bank reconciliations
- Reconciles and manages accounts for all receivables , such as but not limited to prepayments , levy receivables and staff debtors
- Contributes to annual budgeting and planning process
- Generates application for capital Expenditure (ACEs) and updates the Commitment Register
- Assists managing organisation-wide stock counts and ensures that all stock variances are investigated
- Manages the performance of subordinates
Accounting Officer QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Accounting
- A minimum of 3 years experience in management accounting
- Studying towards an accounting professional qualification ACCA/CIMA/ICSA or equivalent
- Ability to use SAP is a distinct advantage
- Must possess strong attention to detail , problem solving skills , analytical skills and good communication skills
