Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of Chamber Secretary. This is a Senior Management position which reports to the Town Clerk. The position is highly challenging and demanding

Key Result Areas
- Managing the day to day running of the Chamber Secretary Department
- Preparing and Distributing agendas and notices of any Mayoral, Council and Committee meetings
- Follow up on implementation of all Council resolutions
- Rendering legal advice to council , Council Committees and Management
- Undertaking constant review of the City Council By-Laws with a view to updating them in Line with new legislation and Government Policy
- Drafting and Reviewing agreements and other instruments
- Dealing with all matters relating to conveyance of Council properties
- Representing council in various fora and liaising with Council’s External lawyers on all legal matters
- Handling all Human Resources functions , municipal police and emergency services
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the Town Clerk and / or Council
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from a recognised university
- MAsters Degree, LLM , MPA, MBA or any other Social Sciences Degree will be a distinct advantage
- Must be a Registered Legal Practitioner with the High Court of Zimbabwe
- At least 5 years experience at Senior Management Level in an administrative position, Local Government experience will be an added advantage
- At least 35 years and above
- A clean Record of service within the Local Government Fraternity an added advantage
- A Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence
