The following position has arisen within the City of Bulawayo;

Chamber Secretary’s Department

Vacancy : Chief Fire Officer – Grade 13

Job Summary

Head the Fire and Ambulance Division of the Chamber Secretary’s Department
Coordinate fire control, rescue, hazardous materials clean-up and pre-hospital medical treatment.
Coordinate fire protection and prevention to limit damage, danger and loss of life
Formulate and Control the budget of the Division
Enforc2 Municipal Fire codes Policies and Public safety by protection systems in existing and new constructions
Develop, review and implement all fire fighting and ambulance service policies and procedures
Plan Fire fighting strategies

Chief Fire Officer Qualifications

Must be a corporate member of the Institute of Fire Engineerw
Graduate of the Institute of Fire Engineers or equivalent
Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

At least 7 years experience in Fire Brigade at Senior management level
Analytical, problem solving, decision making and leadership skills are required including the ability to take command at the scene of disaster.
