Vacancy : Civil Engineering Technician
The incumbent will be accountable to the Director Works and Infrastructure Development.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate sites prior to construction and perform onsite inspections as well as field and laboratory tests.
- Prepare results and communicate relevant findings to the Director Works and Infrastructure Development.
- Supervision of ongoing projects to identify and resolve any challenges.
- Observe project sites and evaluate contractors’ work to detect problem with designs and specifications.
- Read and review project drawings to ensure conformity with engineers’ design.
- Act as a representative of the Site Engineer and report all structural challenges to the Director Works and Infrastructure Development.
- Supervise projects to ensure compliance with relevant authority’s dictates (i.e Public Works).
- Material testing to ensure the quality of materials to be used.
- Prepare all civil works related drawings as may be required by the Director Works and Infrastructure Development.
- Keep structural and civil works records for all projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director Works and Infrastructure Development.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- National Diploma (ND) in Civil Engineering plus at least one (1) year of relevant experience.
- HND in Civil Engineering will be an added advantage.
- At least 5 O’ Level passes.
