Vacancy : Director of Financial Services
Reporting to Town Clerk
Key Result Areas
- In Charge of Formulation and preparation of budgets and Final Accounts of the Council operations
- Monitoringand controlling income and expenditure of the Council
- Ensuring that all council funds are kept safe, properly used and recorded
- Prepare monthly financial statements to ensure optimum utilization of Financial Resources
- Supervision of officers in the department to ensure optimum utilization of Human Capital
- Implementation of Effective and efficient debt management systems
- Advise council at all times about its financial status
- Advice the Town Clerks in Terms of relevant statutes on finance – related matters
- Undertake any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Degree in Accounting from a recognised University, or the equivalent
- A relevant Masters Degree is a must
- Membership in a profesional board, eg SAAA CIS , IAC, ACCA or CIMA
- At least 5 years of working experience in middle or senior management accounting position in local authority , parastatal or Civil service
- Applicants must be at least 30 years of age
- A clean Class 4 Driver’s License
