Vacancy : Director Work Related Learning
The incumbent will be accountable to the Vice Chancellor and will be responsible for overseeing, planning, administering and managing the University’s Work Related Learning (WRL) Department.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Come up with relevant policies and procedures that govern the University’s Work Related Learning portfolio.
- Identifying and arranging learning needs of students.
- Arranging Work Related Learning activities, programs and placements which meet the learning outcomes planned for students.
- Formulating and/or implementing clear policies, responsibilities and resources to develop and maintain relationships with employers that make a high quality program of Work Related Learning possible.
- Designing policies and procedures that guide Work Related Learning.
- Working in partnership with the Heads of Curriculum to ensure effective, timely development and delivery of the work based programmes.
- Monitoring and evaluating all WRL related activities to ensure quality standards are maintained and improved at all times and take account of the changing needs of students.
- Maintaining students’ records and control documentation to ensure that accurate information is available at all times.
- Updating all student placement records on the central data system to ensure tracking supervision of all students.
- Scheduling WRL supervision trips.
- Coordinating and ensuring efficient and smooth running of Community Engagement (CE) programs.
- Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of a first degree and Master’s degree.
- A strong appreciation and understanding of the University’s Work Related Learning (WRL) philosophy.
- The incumbent must be a mature and highly motivated individual with the ability to communicate at all levels both within and outside the University.
- At least four (4) years University experience.
