Vacancy : Electricians

The incumbent shall be responsible to the Field Maintenance Manager

KEY JOB PURPOSE

To carry out AC/DC electrical installations and repair of mobile telecommunications equipment , aviation lights installation and maintenance as per CAAZ regulations , site energisation of sites running permanently on generators and work with ZETDC in ensuring urgent fault resolution at the base stations , electrical installations/wiring and maintenance at shops and offices

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Installs cellular mobile electrical installations / equipment
Maintains electrical power plants and infrastructure at base stations , offices and shops
Liaises with ZETDC to resolve commercial power faults affecting operations in the Zone
Comes up with accurate diagrams for all electrical systems & installations
Installs AC power in all new buildings and containers accommodating cellular mobile equipments
Installs DC power , rectifiers and associated equipment
Installs aviation lights on towers as per CAAZ regulations
Recommends material / equipment required to carry out installations / maintenance works according to laid standards
Identifies potential suppliers of the required materials in compliance with laid down purchasing procedures
Applies to ZETDC for new power connections and power upgrades for exising sites
Installs generators sets electrical wings

Electricians QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Diploma or Degree in Electrical Power Engineering
4 years apprentice trained from a reputable organization
Five years experience in the electrical engineering field
Telecommunications sector knowledge
Clean class four (4) drivers license with at least two years driving experience and a valid defensive driving certificate

COMPETENCIES

Knowledge of maintenance procedures
Ability to work with minimum or no supervision
General knowledge of alternators and control panels
Knowledge of safety and health regulations when working with electrical plants and equipment
Sound AC and DC power systems and related installations /maintenance knowledge
