Bantwana Zimbabwe (BZ) is a registered Private Voluntary Organization (PVO 35/20) with a proven track record of designing and implementing successful interventions for vulnerable children, youth, Adolescent Girls and Young Women in Zimbabwe. We design and implement scalable community-based models of service provision in health, education, child protection and economic strengthening, working closely consultation with national stakeholders, including the Department of Social Development (DSD), the multi-sectoral OVC Working Party of Officials, and other key ministries. To that end BZ is recruiting to fill the following positions for an upcoming UNICEF-supported project aimed at increasing the functionality of the National Case Management System through strengthening of the social service workforce and child protection structures in the provision of essential child protection services.

2 (Two) x Finance Assistants

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of cash journal for the project;
  • Processing payments and recording them in the accounting system Acumatica;
  • Preparation of monthly cash and bank reconciliations;
  • Assisting in preparing donor reports and timely submission;
  • Assisting in preparing donor variance analysis;
  • Preparation of monthly cash flow projections for the project and submitting to HQ;
  • Preparation and submission of weekly project advance reconciliation;
  • Maintaining an asset register for the project and submitting it quarterly;
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system for all project transactions;
  • Preparing monthly VAT claims reports and submitting on time;
  • Reconciling of fuel usage monthly and preparing the reports;
  • Assisting in preparation for audits and donor spot checks;
  • Banking and processing of cash withdrawals for the project;
  • Maintaining Petty Cash for the project;
  • Maintaining accurate stores records showing receipts and issues
Qualifications, experience and key competencies required
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Administration, or any related field;
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in an accounting environment;
  • Experience in program administrative, and financial management systems;
  • Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Knowledge and experience in any accounting systems
