Vacancy : Head Treasury

To craft the Treasury Strategy in line with the overall strategy of the institution to ensure that the Division contributes significantly to the objectives of the organization . These strategies will assist in the effective management of assets and liability of the organization

HEAD TREASURY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Put in place a yearly Treasury Strategy to align with the overall objective of the organization
Guiding the identification and management of risk and return on assets in terms the risk management objectives as set by ALCO , Risk Committee and subject to the risk management policies
Monitoring activities to ensure that there is adequate liquidity such that all internal set and regulatory limits are not breached
Monitoring all sets limits and directing dealers to ensure adherence to set thresholds
Through the Alco process ensure that assets and liabilities are appropriately priced to manage interest rate risk
Ensure that the liability book and the asset is appropriately matched to limit interest rate risk
Ensure a good mix of deposit to enable the creation of a core deposit book
Foreign exchange rate risk management
Put in place adequate policies , procedures and system to enable the monitoring of foreign exchange risk
Put in pace hedging instruments where necessary
Ensure adequate systems , processes and procedures in place
Put in place a treasury strategy on liability growth
Identify ideal sources for deposit mobilization
Facilitate and engage in client acquisition activities
Grow the liability book
Manage concentration risk through diversification strategies
Ensure a good mix of demand and fixed deposits
Ensure availability of liquidity to meet all obligations as and when they fall due

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Finance , banking , business administration , business studies
A master/MSc in Business Administration or equivalent
10 years experience , 5 years of which should have been at Senior Management level preferably in the banking sector
ACI Dealing qualification
Treasury Management courses
Sound knowledge on Treasury operations
Good appreciation of the market and economic understanding
Extensive exposure to international best practice across a broad spectrum of banking /financial services operations
Self-motivated and good leadership and emotional intelligence skills
Highly developed organizational skills
Exceptional presentation skills
