MANAGER, TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS
Job Description
- Managing the University vehicles fleet;
- Enforcing vehicle standards, routine servicing of vehicles, departure compliance, standard route sequences and fleet ethics.
- Managing vehicle maintenance costs and curbing vehicle and fuel misuse;
- Procuring of fuel coupons and its administration;
- Maintaining adherence to transport policy by University staff;Ensuring that all University vehicles carry all stationary requirements;
- Supervising and providing leadership to drivers, mechanics, fuel attendants and other artisans under the Transport Section;
- Carrying out regular route appraisals and vehicle inspections;
- Administering accident and breakdown procedures;
- Planning the University vehicle replacement programme;
- Ensuring that all University vehicles including personally allocated vehicles and buses are kept clean all the time;
- Producing periodic reports on the operations of the Transport Section covering the state of each vehicle, fuel orders and fuel consumption as well as the performance of mechanics and drivers.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the Registrar.
