Murewa Rural District Council

Planning Officer (Grade 10) (Contract without limit of time)

The planning officer will be Head of Department for the spatial planning Department and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.

Qualifications and Attributes

A Degree in Rural and Urban Planning or equivalent
Master Degree in the related field will be an added advantage
Membership to a recognised Professional Body – Zimbabwe Institute of Regional and Urban Planners
Distinct computer skills such as AutoCad and GIS
At least 3 years experience in a Local Authority, Local Government or similar or related environment
A clean class 4 Driver’s License
Police Clearance
Citizen of Zimbabwe
At least 30 years of age

Duties and Responsibilities

To Coordinate and manage the day to day functions of the Spatial Planning Department
Providing professional advice to the chief executive and Council on spatial planning and other administrative matters
Production of layout plans for business centers in consultation with the Department of Physical Planning
Carrying out plan approvals
Supervision of Land surveys
Pegging of stands and designated areas
Production of Annual Development and Rolling plans
Development Control within Murewa District
Land Management and Lease Management
Enforcement of relevant statutes and regulations
Servicing the projects and planning committee
Any other duties delegated by the the Chief Executive officer
