Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Science

Goat Genetics Programme

Artificial Insemination Laboratory

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Preparation and analysis of semen
Provide artificial insemination (A.I) service to clients , use understanding of anatomy to accurately place semen in the proper place in the reproductive track
Maintain proper sanitation
Store , travel with , thaw and prepare semen for insemination
Promote new and current products /services to customers
Offer reproductive consultation to breeders and farmers and perform pregnancy checks on animals
Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Technician QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Biological Sciences or Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology or Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Sciences
At least one (1) year experience as a Bio-Laboratory Technician or in a similar setup
Knowledge of artificial insemination would be an added advantage
