Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the below-mentioned position that have arisen in Chamber Secretary and the Engineering Department .
Vacancy : Workshop Foreman (Grade 9) x 1
QUALIFICATIONS
- Class 1 Journeyman Card in Motor Mechanics or Diesel Plant Fitting
- National Certificate in Motor Mechanic or Diesel Plant Fitting
- Certificate of completion of apprenticeship is an added advantage
- At least 5 O Levels including Maths and English
- A minimum of two years post-qualification experience
- Computer Literacy
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensuring that vehicles are repaired to the highest quality as prescribed by Council guidelines (Quality Checks)
- Supervising artisans and training apprentices including performance management of sectional staff.
- Monitoring work activity in the workshop study, work cards, and ensuring vehicle checklists
- Schedule maintenance (preventive and breakdown maintenance), and work schedules
- Overseeing work, anticipate detect and address factors that impede operations
- Enforcing safety of staff, equipment and regulations and protocols
