Pharmacist (Head Office x 1)

Reporting to the Medical Officer Occupational Health Services, the successful candidate will maintain full control over delivery, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration

Key Outputs

  • Reviewing and executing the medical officer’s prescriptions,checking their appropriateness and legality
  • Organising the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
  • Maintaining full control over delivering, stocking and labelling of medicine for the authority and monitoring the condition to prevent expiring or deterioration
  • Listening carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and other information and advice
  • Providing assistance with other medical services such as injections, blood pressure/ temperature measurement etc
  • Preparing medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient
  • Keeping records of patient history and of all activities regarding heavy medication
  • Keeping abreast of advancements in medicine by attending conferences and seminars and collaborating with other healthcare professionals
  • Complying will all applicable legal rules, regulations and procedures

Qualifying Requirements

  • Degree in Pharmacy
  • Clean Class 4 Drivers Licence
  • Open practising certificate from the relevant authority
  • 2-3 years relevant experience

Pharmacy Technician (Head Office x 1)

Reporting to the Pharmacist, the successful candidate will dispense medication, maintain records by recording and filing the prescriptions and orders, sorting, stocking and labelling medications and monitoring inventory

Key Outputs

Reporting to the Pharmacist, the pharmacy technician will be responsible for

  • Supporting pharmacological services by assembling, stocking and distributing medications
  • Maintaining records by recording and filing the prescriptions and orders of Physicians
  • Sorting, stocking and labelling medications and monitoring inventory
  • Responding to the request of patients and healthcare providers, answering their questions and referring various inquiries to the Pharmacist
  • Complying with rules, regulations and procedures to help maintain a clean and safe pharmacy, such as by sterilising equipment and surfaces
  • Processing prescriptions electronically and ensuring all information is accurate and complete
  • Generating revenues by recording, calculating and issuing charges
  • Undertaking administrative tasks such as record-keeping as assigned by a Physician or facility manager from time to time

Qualifying Requirements

  • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technician
  • Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence
  • 2-3 years relevant experience

Nursing Officer – Staff & Pensioners (Head Office x 1, Bulawayo x 1) : (Grade 10)

Reporting to the Medical Officer, the successful candidate will be involved in the treatment of Pensioners and staff members and other activities in the OSH Division.

Key Outputs

  • Asses physical, social and emotional well -being of clients, diagnose and treat
  • Carrying out basic vital observation checks on all clients
  • Develop treatment plan in conjunction with the opinion of other professionals working with he client and ensure drug adherence
  • Liaise with treating specialist on condition of client and give necessary support
  • Provide health activities, healthcare education and wellness programmes
  • Storage and dispensing of drugs and maintaining records
  • Carryout doctor’s orders
  • Autoclave dressing equipment
  • Facilitate specimen collection and other investigation
  • Manage medical records
  • Participate in budget formulation
  • Compile weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly reports or as per supervisor’s request

Qualifying Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Nursing
  • Diploma in Counselling/ Physiology/ knowledge of OSH and possession of OSHEMAC certificate is an added advantage
  • Valid practising certificate
  • Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence
  • 2-3 years experience in general nursing

Key Competencies

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Counselling qualification and good counselling skills
  • Self-driven, mature and goal oriented
  • Computer literacy

Nurse Aide : (Head Office x 2) – (Grade 3)

Reporting to the Nursing Officer, the successful candidate will provide basic nursing care to clients in the clinic

Key Outputs

  • Provide basic nursing care to all clients at clinic
  • Checking and recording vital observations
  • Dump dust the working environment and equipment to maintain a safe environment for patients
  • Prepare dressing packs for autoclaving
  • Process admission and discharges
  • Monitor patients progress and report

Qualifying Requirements

  • Nurse Aide Certificate or equivalent
  • At least 1 year experience in a hospital environment
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of first aid techniques
  • Team orientation
