Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd (Botash) is a manufacturing company located in Sua Pan which produces soda ash and salt for application across a wide range of industries. A 50/50 partnership between the Government of Botswana and a South African Company, Chlor-Alkali Holdings (Pty) Ltd. Botash Conducts all operational activities from production through to marketing and sales of soda and salt across the Southern African Region

The Company employs over 500 employees of which close to 300 are unionised. Employees and their families live in Sowa Town , about 20 km from the plant site. The town boasts of recreational facilities , which include restaurant, tennis courts, squash court, swimming pool and golf course. There is also an international English Medium pre-primary , primary and secondary school owned by the company, as well as Public primary and junior secondary schools

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates with a relevant minimum engineering degree qualification and at least 8 years post qualification experience for the following Engineering position

Vacancy : Projects Engineer – Mechanical (Two year Fixed Term Contract)

The incumbent will be responsible for overall direction and coordination of all mechanical engineering aspects on assigned projects and programs, from requirements gathering to producing specifications, designs ,equipment selection , installation and commissioning. The Engineer will be responsible for producing project execution plans and securing the necessary approvals. The incumbent will ensure implementation and control of assigned projects to be completed wh minimal variation to scope, time , cost and quality constraints. He/she will be responsible for contract management and perfomance of external service providers , maintaining an up to date projects database as well as preparing and presenting periodic status reports to key stakeholders
