An exciting 3-year training program has a arisen within TIMB and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill this position

Trainee Tobacco Classifiers x 5

Reporting to the Training Officer, the succesful candidates will be trained in the following ;

The tobacco classification system
Identifying any storage pests and symptoms of such infestation on all bales of tobacco that are offered for sale as well as during any such inspections at tobacco factories, warehouses, tobacco re-handling facilities and during farm inspections to ensure separation of pest infested tobacco from the rest
Dealing with all cases of improper and suspicious tobacco presentation and deliveries in consultation with Senior Classifiers or Arbitrators on the state
Collection and collation of data on the sale and during any inspections or investigations for purposes of producing reports foe overall tobacco sales statistics and futurw planning

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

A minimum qualification of a Diploma in Agriculture from a recognised institutio
Ability to follow instructions
A highly organised, task oriented and analytical character with impeccable interpersonal communication skills
Excellent report writing skills
High level of maturity and responsibility
Trustworthy
An eye for detail
Good analytical and investigative skills
