World Health Day 2023

World Health Day is celebrated every year on April 7th to raise awareness about global health issues and to promote healthy living. The day was first established in 1950 by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to commemorate the founding of the organisation in 1948.

Each year, World Health Day focuses on a specific health issue of global concern. The theme for 2021 is “Building a fairer, healthier world,” which highlights the inequalities in access to healthcare and the need for greater action to improve health outcomes for all people, regardless of their social or economic status.

Throughout the day, various events and activities are organized around the world to raise awareness about the importance of health, promote healthy behaviors and lifestyles, and advocate for policies and actions to improve public health.

In addition, the WHO and other organisations release reports and data on global health issues, highlighting progress made in achieving health goals and identifying areas where further action is needed. Overall, World Health Day serves as an important reminder of the importance of prioritising health and working together to improve global health outcomes

World Health Day Theme

The theme of World Health Day is chosen to draw attention to a specific global health issue and to promote action to address it. In recent years, themes have included mental health, universal health coverage, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s important to note that World Health Day serves as an opportunity to raise awareness and advocate for public health issues, but efforts to improve global health outcomes should continue year-round.
