World Milk Day

June 1st is the date that has been set aside to celebrate Milk Day. World Milk Day is an international day established by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations to recognize the importance of milk as a global food. It has been observed on June 1 each year since 2001. The day is intended to provide an opportunity to bring attention to activities that are connected with the dairy sector

2021 Theme

  • The theme for World Milk Day 2021 will focus on ‘Sustainability in the Dairy Sector along with Empowering the Environment, Nutrition, and Socio- Economic’.  The FAO also plans to re- introduce dairy farming to the world, by helping to create a low- carbon future for the dairy industry. 
  • This year’s theme aims to spread more and more awareness about incorporating milk and dairy products regularly into our diet.
