ZINGSA, a statutory body established in terms of the Research Act (Chapter 10:22), is inviting applications from suitable and qualified candidates to fill the following posts:

Job Vacancies April 2023

  • Administration Officer
  • Accountant
  • Accounts Clerk
  • Human Resources Officer
  • Plumber
  • Electrician

Job : Administration Officer x 1

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day to day administrative operations of ZINGSA
  • Custody of ZINGSA assets register and ensuring adequate insurance
  • Articulation of Corporate Governance Issues
  • Organising board and/ or stakeholder meetings
  • Ensuring the efficient utilisation and control of ZINGSA assets through appropriate management systems
  • Administration budget formulation, control and material purchases
  • Development and implementation of ZINGSA security plan
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Director

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies/ Administration or equivalent
  • At least 3 years working experience in Administration
  • Interpersonal skills in developing relationships with stakeholders and problem solving ability
  • Excellent organising, scheduling and time management skills
  • Competency in computer applications such as Excel, Word and Administration Information systems such as SAP

Job : Accountant x 1

Responsibilities Summary

  • Preparing Accounts, tax returns, administering payrolls and controlling income and expenditure
  • Auditing financial information, compiling, presenting reports, budgets, business plans, commentaries and financial statements
  • Analysing accounts, business plans, providing tax planning services with reference to current legislation
  • Negotiating the terms of business deals and moves with clients and associated organisations
  • Managing colleagues, workloads and deadlines
  • Liaising with managerial staff, colleagues and clients
  • Arranging payments for invoices
  • Undertaking financial administration, monitoring financial transactions and bookkeeping

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of accounting/finance experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the institution
  • Highly detailed oriented and ability to reflect on one’s work as well as the wider consequences of financial decisions

Job : Accounts Clerk x 1

Responsibilities Summary

Job : Human Resources Officer x 1

Responsibilities Summary

  • Recruiting, training and developing staff
  • Managing ZINGSA payroll systems
  • Making sure that staff get paid correctly and on time
  • Pension and benefits administration
  • Approving job descriptions and advertisements
  • Looking after the health, safety and welfare of all employees
  • Monitoring performance and attendance
  • Advising line managers and other employees on employment law and employer’s own employment policies and procedures
  • Negotiating salaries, contracts, working conditions or redundancy packages with staff and representatives

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Science or other relevant field
  • At least 3 years working experience
  • Knowledge of HR functions (pay: benefits; recruitment; training and development, etc)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Understanding labour laws and disciplinary procedure
  • Proficient in information technology
  • Problem-solving and decision making attitude
  • Meticulous attention to detail

Plumber x 1

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal and water supply systems
  • CUT, assemble and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure
  • Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets etc
  • Assisting contractors e.g electricians and painters, as required
  • Removing debris, garbage, and dangerous materials from sites
  • Locate and repair issues with water supply lines and sewer (e.g Leaks)
  • Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
  • Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
  • Preparing construction sites, materials and tools

Qualifications and Experience

  • HND or Journeyman Class One (1) in Plumbing or Pipe Laying
  • At least 5 Ordinary Level passes including English Language and Mathematics at Grade C or better
  • At least 3 years experience working as an plumber

Electrician x 1

Responsibilities Summary

  • Install, maintain and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems
  • Read technical diagrams and blueprints
  • Perform general electrical maintenance
  • Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices
  • Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring or fixtures
  • Follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations
  • Circuit breaker corrective maintenance
  • Good knowledge of various test equipment

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree/ HND/ Journeyman Class One in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 5 O Level passes including English Language and Mathematics at grade C or better
  • At least 3 years working experience as an electrician
